Gaulden's Ice Cream

1 3/4 cups sugar
3 raw eggs
1 package vanilla junket; (4oz.)
1 large Pet milk
2 small Pet milk
1 quart milk
1 tablespoon or more of vanilla extract
water as much as needed to finish - barrel to desired level.
Mix all ingredients together, but do not cook them. Makes one gallon. Remember that you don't fill barrel all the way to the top. Leave a couple of inches for expansion of the ice cream as it freezes. This recipe is the best I've ever made for a down home, homemade flavor. However, it is not for folks that are afraid of raw eggs.
